Mechanical Engineers are primarily involved in economical conversion of energy for power, light, heat, cooling and transportation; machine design; and materials science.

Industrial engineers are involved with devising economical methods of productivity - finding out to get the most out of something while putting the least in.

The department maintains excellent teaching quality, promotes research and scholarly activities, and enhances learning and the learning environment.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is one of eight programs within the College of Engineering, having an enrollment of about 150 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students. 

The following programs are offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Industrial Engineering.

  1. EAC/ABET accredited Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  3. Master's of Science in Industrial Engineering.
